WeddingCram isn't open yet. Right now the only personal information we collect is the email address you give us to join the early-access list. This page explains what we keep, why, and how to have it deleted. Short version: we use your email to send you one message when WeddingCram opens, and nothing else.
Who we are
WeddingCram is run by Alex Jacobson, an individual based in the United States, who is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@weddingcram.com, and we'll give our full name and postal address on request.
What we collect
When you join the list, we store:
- your email address
- which speech you told us you're giving (best man, father of the bride and so on)
- which of our pages you signed up on, and the campaign tags in the link that brought you there, if any — for example, that you came from a Reddit ad
- the date and time you signed up
To stop automated spam sign-ups, your IP address is used for a moment to check how many requests are coming from it, and the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you're a person rather than a bot. We don't store your IP address.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. We don't use advertising trackers or pixels on this site, and we don't set any cookies of our own.
Why we collect it
To send you one email when WeddingCram opens, with your early-access price. We also look at the totals — how many people signed up from each page, for which speech, and from which ad — to decide what to build first. We only ever look at those as counts, not at individuals.
Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we'll delete your details.
We will never sell your email or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who helps us run this
A few service providers process your information on our behalf, only to run the site and send the launch email:
- Cloudflare — hosts the website, stores the early-access list in a database restricted to the EU, and provides the spam protection and cookieless analytics
- Resend — sends the launch email
Your details are stored in the EU. Both companies are based in the United States, though, and some processing — such as sending the email — may happen outside the EU. Where that happens, it's protected by the safeguards GDPR requires, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Until we've sent the launch email, and then for no more than six months after WeddingCram opens, unless you become a customer, in which case we'll tell you what changes at that point. You can ask us to delete your details at any time before then.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Email hello@weddingcram.com and we'll reply within a month, usually much sooner.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
When WeddingCram opens and starts taking payments, this policy will be updated to cover that. We'll change the date at the top whenever we update it.
